Guimaras State University (GSU) is set to receive multiple distinctions during the 5th CHED Regional Quality Awards, recognizing the university’s sustained participation and noteworthy contributions to various initiatives spearheaded by the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office VI (CHEDRO VI).

The awarding rites are expected to convene university presidents, academic administrators, faculty representatives, and higher education stakeholders from across Western Visayas in recognition of institutional practices and initiatives that have contributed to the advancement of quality higher education in the region.
University President Dr. Lilian Diana B. Parreño, together with the entire GSU community, conveyed gratitude and pride over the university’s forthcoming recognitions, describing them as attestations of institutional commitment to accessible, responsive, and socially rooted higher education.
The recognitions further reflect GSU’s continuing involvement in programs tied to educational inclusion, student assistance mechanisms, peace education, internationalization, and culturally responsive learning spaces for Indigenous Peoples communities.
For the university community, these honors affirm GSU’s continuing pursuit of public service, academic stewardship, and regional development through higher education.
