On October 15, 2026, the Monitoring and Impact Assessment Unit (MIAU) of the Extension Services Division, under Research, Extension, Training and Innovation (RETI), conducted a Community Needs Assessment (CNA) at EMHYU Food Products (Parolas Guimaras) in Sitio Wawan, Brgy. San Isidro, Buenavista, Guimaras.
The assessment gathered information about the community, the processors’ product innovation and value-addition practices, their capacity-building priorities, and their operational preferences. Using KoboToolbox, MIAU recorded responses through digital forms during fieldwork, enabling real-time data collection without paper forms and creating an organized record for later review and analysis.
This activity was conducted alongside with the College of Agricultural Sciences-BS Food Technology Program extension project, MANGO VALUE:A Science- and Technology-Based Food Processing, Product Innovation, and Enterprise Development Program for Community-Based Food Processors in Guimaras.
The information collected will help guide MIAU’s future community extension services and technical interventions in response to local needs. This work supports Guimaras State University’s commitment to impactful and sustainable community development.
