On October 6, 2026, Guimaras State University (GSU) joined the Guimaras Data Expo 2026 at the Municipal Tourism Building, Jordan Wharf, showcasing the University’s role in generating, interpreting, and communicating data relevant to the province.
The expo brought together 14 entries from participating government agencies and offices, presenting statistics, datasets, and other evidence-based insights that provide a wider picture of Guimaras’ demographic, socioeconomic, institutional, and developmental landscape.
GSU participated in the exposition through a delegation led by University President Dr. Lilian Diana B. Parreño, together with faculty members and students who took part in the event and engaged with the data presentations of participating institutions.
The exposition provided an avenue for agencies and academic institutions to put statistical information within a more accessible public context, allowing visitors to examine data not merely as figures but as references for understanding the province’s conditions, priorities, and development trajectory.
For GSU, participation in the expo also brought the University’s academic community into a wider provincial data ecosystem, where research, institutional statistics, and public-sector information intersect in informing development work.
