Guimaras State University (GSU) proudly congratulates Osiah Jade Sandrea Suarez of the College of Teacher Education and coach Dr. Criste Dilag for securing 2nd Place in the Digital Storytelling Contest during the ASEAN HORIZONS 2026 academic and cultural competitions held on September 3, 2026, at Iloilo Science and Technology University.
Suarez carried the University’s banner in the digital storytelling category, translating ideas and narratives into a compelling digital piece that earned GSU a place among the competition’s distinguished finishers.
The University also fielded delegates in the Regional Quiz Challenge, with Racel Joy Galleron, Gwynyth Talabero, and Rheshey Mae Gallo of the College of Criminal Justice Education, coached by Dr. Agatha Rica N. Pano.
Meanwhile, Fiona Apple Alvarado and Crystal Eunice Galila of the College of Tourism and Hospitality Management represented GSU in the Ultimate Tour Guiding Challenge, under the guidance of Prof. Ellyn Ly Maramento and Instr. Julie Jane Borreros.
Their participation in the three competition categories reflects the breadth of student talent cultivated across GSU’s academic colleges, extending the University’s presence into an ASEAN-oriented arena of academic and cultural exchange.
The 2nd-place distinction in digital storytelling stands as a proud achievement for GSU and a testament to the participant’s creative aptitude, preparation, and composure in a regional competition.
