On August 10, 2026, Guimaras State University (GSU) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government–Guimaras Provincial Office, through the Guimaras Local Governance Resource Center (GLGRC), formalized a partnership aimed at deepening institutional collaboration in areas relevant to local governance, knowledge development, and community engagement.
The agreement establishes a broader collaborative framework through which the two institutions can pool their respective expertise, resources, and institutional capacities in advancing initiatives responsive to the needs of local government units and communities.
The partnership provides avenues for capacity-building, research, technical assistance, extension work, knowledge exchange, governance innovation, and learning development, alongside other mutually identified undertakings within the respective mandates of the parties.
Through this institutional linkage, GSU and DILG-Guimaras seek to cultivate a more substantive interface between academe and local governance, allowing scholarly knowledge, field-based practice, and public-sector experience to inform initiatives that contribute to more responsive and grounded governance.
