GSU Consults Stakeholders on Revision of Institutional VMGO, Quality Policy, and Core Values

Guimaras State University (GSU) convened a Stakeholder Consultation on the Revision of its Vision, Mission, Goals and Objectives (VMGO), Quality Policy, and Core Values on August 10, 2026, at the Agri-Eco Convention Hall, opening an institutional dialogue on the refinement of the University’s strategic and quality-oriented declarations.

The consultation brought together University stakeholders, the Quality Assurance Office, Secretariat, facilitators, and moderators for a structured examination of the University’s existing and proposed institutional statements.

University President Dr. Lilian Diana B. Parreño delivered the welcome message, setting the tenor for a consultative process anchored on institutional reflection and stakeholder participation. Mrs. Jed Grace C. Porras, Head of the Quality Assurance Office and AO V, led the opening prayer, while Ms. Daverose S. Gallego served as master of ceremonies.

Providing the contextual groundwork for the revision, Dr. Methusela C. Perrocha, Director of the Quality Assurance Office, presented the background and rationale underpinning the proposed refinements. The presentation situated the revision within the University’s continuing efforts to ensure that its institutional declarations remain consonant with its evolving academic mandate, organizational priorities, and quality aspirations.

The morning proceedings featured presentations of the existing and proposed VMGO and Quality Policy drafts, followed by an open forum where stakeholders were invited to articulate observations, recommendations, and substantive inputs. The consultation subsequently proceeded to the consolidation and presentation of institutional agreements, allowing the gathered perspectives to be synthesized into a more coherent direction for the University’s proposed revisions.

Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Erly M. Martir delivered the closing remarks, concluding the morning consultation and underscoring the continuing role of the University community in shaping the institutional principles that will guide GSU’s academic and organizational trajectory.
