Guimaras State University (GSU), through its Security Services Unit, convened the Campus Safety and Security Enhancement Training on July 24, 2026, advancing the operational proficiency and institutional preparedness of its security force in preserving a secure and orderly academic milieu.
The training was undertaken through the collaborative stewardship of Guimaras State University, under the leadership of University President Dr. Lilian Diana B. Parreño, and ILOBAC Security Agency, represented by Mr. Genesis Lozada and Mr. Steve Lozada. The undertaking exemplified a resolve to cultivating a security corps equipped with the competencies, discipline, and legal acumen demanded by contemporary campus protection.
Structured as an intensive capability-building engagement, the program traversed essential domains of security operations, including Gun Safety Practices, Security Laws, the Miranda Doctrine, the Security Code of Conduct, the Eleven (11) General Orders of Security Guards, and Basic Firearms Proficiency. The instructional sessions interwove jurisprudential principles with practical field exercises, sharpening participants’ operational judgment, situational vigilance, regulatory compliance, and responsible firearms handling.
The training drew on the expertise of Mr. Joel P. Lego, Division Chief of the Safety and Security Service, Iloilo Provincial Capitol; PSMS Bryan G. Sampelo, Gun Safety Instructor (GSI); and Dr. Allan S. David, Head of the Guimaras State University Security Services Unit. Their lectures and demonstrations furnished participants with operational perspectives grounded in professional practice.
The Security Services Unit likewise conveyed its appreciation to the University Administration, ILOBAC Security Agency, the resource persons, facilitators, and participating security personnel whose efforts ensured the successful conduct of the training.
