GSU Joins Nationwide Observance of Ease of Doing Business Month 2026

In observance of Ease of Doing Business (EODB) Month this May 2026, Guimaras State University (GSU) has intensified its institutional efforts to promote more responsive, streamlined, and transparent frontline services across its campuses. The observance aligns with Proclamation No. 818, signed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., which designates May as Ease of Doing Business Month in support of more accessible and citizen-centered government systems.

Alongside the nationwide observance, the university is also preparing for the Nationwide Frontline Service Inspection spearheaded by the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA). The inspection forms part of the government’s compliance monitoring under Republic Act No. 11032, otherwise known as the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018, which mandates government offices to simplify procedures, observe prescribed processing timelines, and strengthen transparency mechanisms in public transactions.

The ARTA inspection process, carried out through Committee on Anti-Red Tape (CART) teams, examines agencies on areas such as processing efficiency, accessibility of services, updated Citizens’ Charters, and responsiveness to public concerns.

These initiatives are not solely compliance-driven but are also part of broader institutional efforts to strengthen accountability and improve the overall experience of students, employees, and external clients engaging with university offices.

As inspections proceed this May, GSU continues to position itself in step with the national directive toward a more transparent, service-oriented, and less bureaucratic public sector environment.
