GSU-CAS Rolls Out CASADYA 2026 with Daylong Campus Festivities

CASADYA 2026 Opening

On April 8, 2026, the Guimaras State University (GSU) College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) staged CASADYA 2026 at the University Grounds, Salvador Campus, carrying the theme “Arangka Padulong sa Mas Madinalag-on nga mga CASimanwa.” The day-long activity gathered students, faculty, and officials for a series of academic-community engagements, competitions, and cultural presentations.

Morning Program

The morning program opened with a parade across the campus grounds, accompanied by performances from the GSU Dalawidaw Chorale. Opening remarks were delivered by Instr. Jasmine C. Eguilos, CASSC Adviser, followed by a message and the formal declaration of CASADYA 2026 by College Dean Dr. Ana Liza G. Sanchez.

Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) Dr. Erly M. Martir also delivered a message, emphasizing the value of unity and student engagement in college-led initiatives. The morning activities included recognition rites facilitated by Instr. Gerardo S. Garadores Jr., followed by an aerial human formation performed by CAS students.

Team-building activities capped the first half of the program, with winning groups later receiving recognition during the awarding segment. The morning session concluded with closing remarks from Jeb Tahum, BAELS Board Member.

Afternoon Program

The afternoon segment shifted toward pageantry and stage presentations. It opened with remarks from Instr. Jade Rouise M. Mucho, CASSC Assistant Adviser, and a welcome message from Dean Dr. Ana Liza G. Sanchez. An inspirational message was also delivered by Dr. Erly M. Martir.

Proceedings continued with the introduction of judges by Debbie Rose Diaz, CASSC Operations Manager, followed by the reading of criteria for judging. Candidates from various year levels took part in production numbers, playsuit presentations, street wear competitions, pasarela showcases for both female and male students, formal wear presentations, and a question-and-answer portion.

Intermission performances were provided by the GSU Dalawidaw Chorale before the announcement of winners, awarding of certificates, and coronation segment. The program formally closed with remarks from CAS Governor Jay G. Abenoja, followed by a campus-wide socialization activity involving all participating students.
