Guimaras State University (GSU) joined the PASUC National Culture and the Arts Festival 2026, held at West Visayas State University. The national convening gathered state universities and colleges across the country for a slate of cultural contests and artistic showcases.

Serving as GSU’s entry for the Oratorio category was Rodgen D. Perez, who carried the university’s name in the said competition under Region VI – Western Visayas.

Preparation for the category was guided by Prof. Gilbert A. Amistas, who provided direction in refining the technical and interpretive aspects of the performance.

Institutional backing was likewise recognized from University President Dr. Lilian Diana B. Parreño and Dr. Ervin L. Isogon, Director of Cultural Affairs, Traditional, and Contemporary Arts, whose continued support has enabled student participation in cultural undertakings beyond the campus.

Dr. Parreño, together with the entire GSU community, shares in this festive moment, extending warm congratulations to Perez for bringing honor and distinction to the University on the national stage.
