Road to Guimaras State University

The House Bill 8731-“An Act Converting the Guimaras State College in the Province of Guimaras into a State University to be known as Guimaras State University and Appropriate Funding Thereof” was jointly signed by Hon. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and Hon. Vicente Sotto III and sent to the office of the President for signing. The bill will lapse into law if not vetoed on April 27, 2019.

Last April 26, 2019, Republic Act 11335 was signed by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte- AN ACT CONVERTING THE GUIMARAS STATE COLLEGE IN THE PROVINCE OF GUIMARAS, INTO A STATE UNIVERSITY, TO BE KNOWN AS THE GUIMARAS STATE UNIVERSITY, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR
