Face masks and hand sanitizers to Health Workers and other frontliners of Jordan Rural Health Unit

Face masks and hand sanitizers to health workers, other frontliners and LGU officials of the Municipality of Sibunag and its Rural Health Unit, received personally by the Municipal Mayor and the Municipal Health Officer.

Guimaras State College Research and Extension Services through Research and Extension Office held the Research Extension and Innovation Week 2019 dated December 10-13, 2019. The purpose of the said activity is to raise awareness and presentation of research and extension outputs of the College.

Palayag Cheerdance Competition 2020: Guidelines, Criteria and Awards

  1. Each college or campus can only field one (1) team with all males, all females or mixed members
  2. The team must be composed a maximum of sixty (60) participants which includes dancers, cheerers, lifters, fliers, spotters, props personnel and musicians.
  3. All participants must be a bonafide student of Guimaras State College (Second Semester, A.Y. 2019-2020) representing their respective college or campus.
  4. The costume can be of any design and materials provided it is appropriate to the concept of the team. They can wear any kind of footwear or can be also barefooted as they wish.
  5. The choreography may be accomplished by tape-recorded music or live drums or band accompaniment. Tape-recorded music in an MP3 format (Saed in a flash drive) must be submitted to Instr. Khristian T. de la Rama 3 days prior to the competition. Each team must assign its own music director to facilitate the playing of the music. The music director is responsible for checking the entire music 30 minutes prior to the contest proper.
  6. A part of the Municipal Hymn (Salida Buenavista) must be integrated into the cheers. Likewise, the theme for this year’s Palayag Festival (Resilient Buenavistahanons: One Voice. One Hope. One Palayag) must also be included in the cheers.
  7. All competing teams are required to undergo the closed-door screening on 10 January 2020. The screening team is composed of Instr. Khristian T. de la Rama, as the over-all facilitator; Prof. Maribeth E. Sumalde as the Cultural Coordinator; and Mrs. Elma Zaldivar as the Committee Chair.
  8. The whole presentation must be in a maximum of ten (10) minutes, including entrance, exit, participant’s set-up, dismantling of props. The time will commence as soon as the red flag will be raised and the yellow flag will be raised to mean “end” of the performance including the exit (until the last performer leaves the dance area).
  9. The committee will be checking the CMO No. 63, s. 201 three (3) days prior to the competition date. There will be an ocular inspection one (1) hour prior to the start of the program.
  10. Two (2) points will be deducted from each judge for every one (1) minute overtime. Any violation of the aforementioned rules/ guidelines, a group will be deducted with two (2) points from each judge. Penalties will be deducted from the total average of the group from every judge.

INTRODUCTION (Tahoma,11)
The introduction must include the rationale and the main objectives with proper discussions of the variables as well as the significance of the study. This also includes the arguments and citations of the related literature and studies. Provide crisp and easy to read the content. The article should be readable by a normal user. Define abbreviations and acronyms the first time they are text, even after they have been defined in the abstract.

METHODOLOGY
(Tahoma,11)

This should describe the research method used in the study, discuss the sampling technique used in selecting participants, and explain the generation and validation of the instrument. The Data Collection procedures must also be well defined. The Statistical Tools used in the study must be well explained in the Data Analysis part. Ethical considerations (if applicable) are also considered important in informing the participants regarding the purpose of the administration of the instrument or the main purpose of the study. Included here are the proper way of putting sub-headings and its levels


RESULTS and DISCUSSION
This part should present the results of the study and should be comprehensively discussed. The paper should provide sufficient information and evidence to support the results. The references should be cited properly. Tables are numbered consecutively with a title that is written above the table. Figures should be numbers with Arabic numerals with the title that appears below the illustration.

CONCLUSION
A conclusion may review the main points of the paper, do not replicate the abstract as the conclusion. A conclusion might elaborate on the importance of the work or suggest applications.

REFERENCES
List all sources used in the study and must be written in APA Style

  1. Powerpoint presentations of accepted papers should be submitted on or before December 4, 2019. The Powerpoint presentation should contain the following:

  1. The presenter is given only Fifteen (15) Minutes for presentation. There will be no limit in the number of powerpoint slides as long as the presenter will be able to present within the given 15-minute limit. The Facilitator provide the signal for the remaining minutes left.
  2. The presentation must be in Powerpoint (office 2010 or earlier version) saved in a virus-free flash drive. The softcopy of the presentation must be given to the assigned facilitator before the parallel session begins.
  3. There will be a question-and-answer period right after the paper presentation

GSC Personnel attended the FOI Compliance Consultation and Workshop last November 11, 2019, at CDO

CAGAYAN DE ORO – GSC Personnel Dr. Agustin N. Arceña (Planning Officer), Dr. Simeon J. Cainday III (Data Privacy Officer) and Instr. Adrian J. Forca (Web Administrator) attended the FOI Compliance Consultation and Workshop last November 11, 2019, at Cagayan de Oro City. In the said Consultation and Workshop, the Presidential Communications Operations Office enlightened the Participants in the Preparation of the FOI Compliance as the campaign of the said office focuses on the disclosure of public information for the public consumption.

Said activity served as a venue for the participants to raise concerns and clarify issues pertaining to the Freedom of Information.

GSC Personnel attended the 6th SEAMEO Polytechnic Network Meeting at Da Nang City, Vietnam: LOA for SEA-TVET Student Mobility and Faculty Exchange Inked

The Guimaras State College Personnel in the person of Dr. Rogelio T. Artajo (College President), Dr. Ruby D. Catalan (Vice President for Academic Affairs), Dr. Simeon J. Cainday III (Dean, College of Science and Technology) and Dr. Erwin D. Dumagpi (Dean, College of Business Management) attended the 6th SEAMEO Polytechnic Network Meeting Agreement for SEA-TVET Network Action Plan at Duy Tan University, Da Nang City, Vietname last October 17-18, 2019.

The said meeting served as an avenue to the member institutions to share and learn the successful practices of collaboration from the participating institutions, identify the SEA-TVET Network Action plan of 2020 to 2023 for Student Mobility, Teacher Development/Faculty Exchange, and Research and Development, It was an avenue also to seek commitments from participating TVET Institutions to in the implementation of 5th batch of SEA-TVET student exchange programme in 2020, teacher development/ faculty exchange and research development and further strengthen partnership among participating institutions.

New ITSO Personnel were sent to Patent Search and Draft Writeshop: Two Inventions Filed for Philippine Patent

TAGUIG – Guimaras State College sent the three new ITSO (Innovation and Technology Support Office) Personnel of the College namely: Instr. Adrian C. Alumbro (Program Head, BS Food Technology), Instr. Adrian J. Forca (Program Head, BS Information Systems) and Instr. Reiner Jun G. Alminaza (Program Head, BS Information Technology) to the 5-Day Patent Search and Patent Drafting Writeshop last September 16-20, 2019 held at the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHIL), Intellectual Property Center #28 Upper McKinley Road, McKinley Hill Town Center Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City 1634.

Instr. Adrian C Alumbro Presented his Patent Search Methodology

In the said writeshop, IPOPHIL provided technical assistance to the three new ITSO Personnel in conducting patent search and preparation of patent applications where the actual technologies of the participants were the subject of the Writeshop.

Actual outputs filed by the personnel are: patent search and draft specifications and claims of actual technologies. Personnel were productive and made to file 2 innovations in computer-related inventions.

The Western Visayas Food Innovation Center – Guimaras State College (WVFIC-GSC) conducted the “In-house Review of FIC Product Development Research Proposals” last September 6, 2019 at the WVFIC Training Room, GSC, Mosqueda Campus, Jordan, Guimaras. The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) VI Grant-in-Aid program funded the activity entitled “Intensifying the Research and Development Activities and other Services in the Food Innovation Center (FIC)”. Candle Lighting: A Hopeful Prayer of Guimarasnon to resume the normal motorbanca trips

GSC MIS Team assisted the documentation of Hugpong Guimarasnon today September 3, 2019

BUENAVISTA WHARF- A call for Guimarasnon was initiated in Facebook Platform by a page “Hugpong Guimarasnon”.

Its purpose is to gather all Guimarasnon in the wharves of Buenavista, Jordan in Guimaras and Parola in Iloilo to offer a prayer and make a peaceful protest to the Government Agencies against the immediate implementation of Motorbanca Modernization hence seeks consideration for gradual manner since the Economic and Tourism Activities were affected due to the Sea Transportation Situation in the Island. Motorbanca operations were suspended after the Iloilo-Guimaras tragedy last August 3, 2019, and now, though its operation was resumed, it has conditions that still make the people of the Island suffer. Highlights of the activity was a request of the organizer to all Guimarasnon to seek God especially this trying times and collectively pray to resume the normal operations of the motorbanca.

Guimarasnon who will travel from Iloilo to Guimaras vise versa are encouraged to wear a black t-shirt as form of peaceful protest.

The Activity ended peacefully with a hope for a better Guimaras Island.
