Guimaras State University Holds Training and Writeshop on Action Research for School Heads

The Guimaras State University-Graduate School took a further step toward promoting quality education through its “Training and Writeshop on Action Research” on September 23, 2024. This one-day event aimed to equip school heads across Guimaras with research skills to identify and address pressing educational challenges in their institutions. Organized as part of GSU’s community extension initiatives, the program encourages the practical application of research in schools.

Led by Dr. Ruby D. Catalan, Vice President for Academic Affairs, the training focused on the fundamentals of action research, from structuring research questions to presenting findings. Participants engaged in hands-on activities that underscored the importance of evidence-based solutions in education. Dr. Erly M. Martir, Dean of the Graduate School, welcomed the attendees, expressing hope that the session would inspire a culture of continuous learning and improvement among educational leaders.

By equipping school heads with these critical skills, GSU reaffirms its commitment to sustainable educational development in Guimaras, promoting SDG 4 and fostering educational partnerships to benefit the broader community.
