Guimaras State University (GSU), through the Office of the Student Development Services (OSDS), rolled out a three-part Pre-Employment Seminar on May 16, 21, and 23, 2025, at the Agri-Eco Convention Hall, geared towards arming graduating students with practical knowledge and industry-aligned expectations as they transition from the university to the workplace.

The seminar featured focused discussions on professional readiness, job market realities, and survival strategies beyond academic walls. Mr. Kenneth Jun V. Eusebio and Mrs. Eula Mae Grecia-Andrade took center stage with sessions that tackled the anatomy of a strong résumé, interview protocols, workplace ethics, and the cultural shift students will face when stepping into their first jobs. Their insights were punctuated with real-world scenarios, drawing from years of combined HR and corporate exposure.
Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Erly M. Martir addressed the students with a message that went beyond motivation. Featuring agility, adaptability, and purpose-driven careers, he reminded students that diplomas open doors, but personal grit keeps them open.

Also present to show full institutional support were university key officials and the student republic.
The series served as a send-off rooted in the university’s commitment to lifelong learning and post-academic preparedness. The initiative reflects the university’s stance in ensuring that its students are not only employable, but unshakably ready.
