On May 19, 2025, Guimaras State University (GSU) introduced its delegation of faculty and students bound for Universitas Pakuan in Bogor, Indonesia, during the university-wide flag-raising ceremony.
The announcement, led by Dr. Joel V. Japitana, spotlighted the participants of the Faculty and Students Mobility Program, scheduled from May 25 to June 20, 2025. This international academic engagement is poised to broaden institutional linkages and inspire intercultural exchange between GSU and its Southeast Asian counterpart.

At the helm of the delegation is Dr. Reiner Jun Alminaza from the College of Science and Technology, who will serve as faculty representative. Accompanying him are students Maria Lea Gatungay, Adrian Michael Silvestre, and Guima Arra Ganancial, all of whom are expected to partake in research exposure, collaborative lectures, and cultural immersions while abroad.
University President Dr. Lilian Diana B. Parreño, along with key officials, expressed support for the delegates as they prepare to represent GSU in this international academic endeavor.
With travel documents ready and the flag raised high, the GSU community bid farewell—not as an endnote, but as a prologue to something yet to be written.
