GSU Swimmer Canindo Clinches Bronze in Medley Relay at SCUAA National Games 2025

Angel Canindo of Guimaras State University (GSU) secured a commendable bronze medal finish in the 200-meter medley relay during the ongoing 2025 State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) National Games.

Canindo, from GSU’s Sea Dragons delegation, delivered a performance that melded both precision and resilience in the fiercely contested swimming event. Competing alongside other regional talents in the multi-stroke relay format, she contributed to her team’s podium finish.

The medley relay, requiring each swimmer to complete using a different stroke—backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, and freestyle—demands adaptability, rhythm, and cohesion. Canindo’s execution was integral to the team’s overall standing, as they edged out several formidable contenders from larger institutions.

The GSU community extends its applause to Canindo in recognition of this achievement—a powerful reminder that excellence, when forged with grit and purpose, resonates far beyond the finish line.
