The much-anticipated Marketing Activity for Young Farmers Challenge Agripreneurs officially launched today, February 5, bringing fresh and locally grown produce to the Guimaras State University (GSU) community. This initiative aims to support young agripreneurs in exhibiting and marketing their agricultural products.

Among the key participants is Mr. Jessie Ortega of J&J AgriVenture Farm, an awardee at the 2023 Young Farmers Challenge provincial level. Ortega, alongside fellow agripreneurs Mr. Messadick Vincent Niel Fuerte and other aspiring young farmers from Baterna Campus, displayed a variety of their own farm-grown plants and produce for sale.

This marketing activity is set to take place every Wednesday, offering the GSU community consistent access to fresh, healthy, and locally sourced agricultural products. Organizers emphasize that this initiative not only promotes agricultural entrepreneurship but also encourages sustainable farming practices and healthy living among students and faculty.

The Department of Agriculture-Western Visayas (DA-WV) continues to support young agripreneurs through programs like this, cultivating a new generation of farmers who are innovative and business-savvy.
The weekly event is expected to enhance local agribusiness efforts while providing an avenue for young farmers to develop their marketing skills and expand their consumer reach within the university and beyond.
