On September 2, 2024, Guimaras State University (GSU) hosted a special event to welcome a distinguished delegation from Mendel University. The day began with a ceremonial flag-raising, symbolizing the unity and shared goals of both institutions. GSU students, faculty, and staff gathered alongside their guests in a display of solidarity and cooperation.

Following the flag-raising ceremony, GSU organized an opening program at the Agri-Eco Convention Hall. This event allowed the visitors from Mendel University in Brno of the Fakulta regionálního rozvoje a mezinárodních studií to introduce themselves and present their academic and research backgrounds. They also discussed plans for potential research collaborations during their stay in Guimaras, which will last until September 28, 2024. The program was further enriched by cultural presentations that showcased the diverse heritage of the Philippines, offering our guests a glimpse into our nation’s traditions and artistic expressions.

We are truly grateful to Mendel University for this ongoing partnership and for entrusting us with another group of their outstanding students. We believe this collaboration will strengthen our academic ties and pave the way for future exchanges. Our sincere thanks go to everyone who contributed to the success of this collaboration.
