Guimaras State University (GSU) extends a forward-looking welcome to Dr. Ethel Agnes P. Valenzuela, Commissioner of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), as the newly appointed Chair-Designate of the GSU Board of Regents. Her designation was officially endorsed by CHED Chairperson Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis.

The GSU Board of Regents serves as the policy-making body of the university, playing a critical role in institutional planning, development, and resource management.

Likewise, the Chair-Designate’s seat remains central to how decisions are made and how responsibility is distributed across the system. With Dr. Valenzuela’s background in education policy and international academic cooperation, her presence is expected to further strengthen the university’s direction and relevance in the Philippine higher education landscape.
