The Information and Communication Technology Unit (ICTU) of Guimaras State University (GSU) conducted a retraining program titled “SIAS 101: Simplifying Enrollment and Encoding, Billing, and Beyond” on June 16, 2025, at the Agri-Eco Convention Hall. The activity was designed to reacquaint faculty members and designated administrative staff with the operational processes and updated features of the university’s Student Information and Accounting System (SIAS).

The training was led by Mr. Cris Vincent G. Ferrer, Information Systems Analyst, and Mr. Nico G. Amarilla, Information Technology Officer. The session covered enrollment encoding, account management, subject tagging, and data correction procedures. The facilitators also addressed frequently encountered issues related to record mismatches, duplicate entries, and billing errors.
Participants navigated the live SIAS interface during the session, where they were guided through step-by-step simulations.
In her message, University President Dr. Lilian Diana B. Parreño said that keeping operational systems functional is not simply a technical requirement but a shared institutional responsibility.

Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Erly M. Martir described the training as necessary for maintaining coordination across colleges, especially during enrollment and assessment periods.
The session was conducted to ensure management of accounts. Each participant was given time to test system inputs and simulate various scenarios, including encoding for cross-enrollees, handling subjects, and adjusting schedules.
