On June 11, 2025, Guimaras State University (GSU) held a workshop titled, “Enhancing Well-Being and Institutional Success: Stress Management and Feedback Workshop” at the Agri-Eco Convention Hall, attended by faculty, administrative staff, and unit heads from across the university.

The session was organized as part of the regular professional development efforts. It focused on addressing workplace stress and improving how employees give and receive feedback, two areas seen as directly affecting employee performance and institutional operations.

The session was led by Pastor Adriel Steven E. Rayos, who discussed how unmanaged stress builds up over time and affects decision-making, relationships, and work quality. He explained the need for self-awareness, regular rest, and honest communication in managing pressure at work. Pastor Rayos introduced practical routines to help manage stress before it becomes unmanageable.

In her opening message, University President Dr. Lilian Diana B. Parreño brought to the fore the role of well-being in institutional work. She noted that small problems often grow when unaddressed and that creating space to talk about them is necessary.

The session also dealt with feedback practices. Participants were asked to identify gaps in their current routines and discuss cases where feedback had been unclear or avoided altogether. Short exercises helped clarify how to be specific, fair, and calm when giving comments, and how to listen without personalizing criticism.

Participants were later asked to complete reflection forms to evaluate the activity and suggest additional topics for future development sessions.

According to organizers, the workshop is part of a longer-term plan to integrate well-being and performance management across departments.
