Students from Guimaras State University (GSU) – Baterna Campus have earned top honors at the 2025 4-H Club Western Visayas Youth Camp, emerging as CHAMPION in the Agri-Innovation Pitching Contest held from April 28 to 30, 2025, at the Passi City Arena, Iloilo. With this victory, the team will now represent the region in the national-level competition later this year.
The winning team is composed of Ms. Angelica Thea Gargaceran and Mr. Marvin Estil, under the mentorship of Instr. Chressie Anne G. Alcala, who also serves as the Provincial President of the 4-H Club of Guimaras.

The students showcased a creative and practical agricultural innovation aligned with the camp’s theme: “HARVEST through the 4-H Milestone: Harnessing Agricultural Resilience through Vision, Education, Sustainability, and Technology.” Their project impressed both judges and fellow participants, securing them the top spot among young agri-fishery advocates from six Western Visayas provinces.
Adding to the accolades, Instr. Alcala was recognized as a Regional Finalist for the Most Outstanding 4-H Member, acknowledging her continued efforts to inspire and support youth involvement in agriculture and fisheries.

The 4-H Club Western Visayas Youth Camp, organized by the 4-H Club of the Philippines – Western Visayas in partnership with the Agricultural Training Institute, serves as a platform for leadership development, skills enhancement, and knowledge sharing among youth committed to revitalizing the agri-fishery sector.

As the GSU 4-H Club team prepares for the national pitching competition, the entire university community and province rally behind them with pride and high hopes for continued success.
