CHED, INTACT, and Taiwanese Delegates Visit GSU for Cultural Exchange and Academic Linkages

GSU and Taiwan Delegates

Guimaras State University (GSU) recently welcomed a distinguished delegation from the Commission on Higher Education International Affairs Service (CHED-IAS) and the Taiwan International Talent Circulation Base Office–Philippines (INTACT) as part of a cultural visit and immersion initiative designed to broaden international academic collaborations and promote cross-cultural engagement.

CHED-IAS Cultural Visit INTACT Program Exchange

The visit formed part of a wider program aimed at expanding opportunities for Filipino students and institutions through global talent exchange, transnational education, and international internship pathways. The INTACT Base Office in the Philippines serves as a conduit for talent development initiatives between Taiwan and the Philippines, focusing on building innovation ecosystems and enhancing international mobility among students and professionals.

University President Dr. Lilian Diana B. Parreño expressed her heartfelt appreciation to the visiting delegates for choosing Guimaras State University as one of their immersion sites. In her message, she accentuated the value of international collaboration in enriching the academic and cultural landscape of Philippine higher education.

Academic Exchange Taiwan Delegation at GSU

Among the delegates from Taiwan’s Kun Shan University were Yueh Feng Chaung, Dean of the International and Cross Strait Affairs Office; Shang Chou Chang, CEO of the Office of the International Foundation Program; Ching Han Yeh, Chief of the International Exchange Section; Chia Wen Chang and Hui Wen Hsiao, both Project Managers of the INTENSE Program Office. They were joined by Mike Chu, CEO of the INTACT Base Office–Philippines, bringing to the fore Taiwan’s commitment to strengthening educational and cultural ties with Philippine institutions.

CHED was represented by Dr. Donabeth G. Narzoles, Officer-in-Charge and Supervising Education Program Specialist, and Ms. Janessa Nicole S. Juarez, Transnational Higher Education Regional Coordinator. The delegation also included representatives from various Philippine universities: Dr. Eugene Mutuc, Director for Internationalization at Bulacan State University; Ms. Felicitas Trinidad, Director of the Office of International Affairs at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines; Mr. Geoffrey T. Salvador, Chairperson of the Electronics Engineering Department at PUP; and Ms. Vanessa Mae Antiquin, Executive Vice President of Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc.

CHED Taiwan Visit to GSU

GSU was represented by its Vice Presidents, Deans, Directors, and other academic and administrative personnel. The university administration expressed its gratitude for the opportunity to showcase its academic programs and research strengths while engaging in meaningful exchanges that pave the way for future partnerships in international education, cultural exchange, and talent development.
