Guimaras State University (GSU) welcomed the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) on April 28, 2025 at the Agri-Eco Convention Hall, for a monitoring engagement aimed at appraising the university’s adherence to national academic standards and fortifying its commitment to quality assurance. This undertaking is part of CHED’s intensified drive to ensure that higher education institutions sustain excellence, relevance, and responsiveness across all program offerings.

University President Dr. Lilian Diana B. Parreño, in her remarks, articulated GSU’s resolute dedication to continuous enhancement and regulatory compliance. She mentioned the university’s recent strides that signify the institution’s pursuit of academic distinction and institutional integrity.

During the visit, CHED evaluators conducted a thorough examination of the university’s academic frameworks, faculty profiles, physical infrastructures, and student support mechanisms. The inspection served not merely as an audit, but also as a catalyst for continuous refinement aligned with national and international benchmarks for higher education.

In attendance during the visit were the Vice Presidents, Campus Directors, Unit Heads, Deans, faculty, and staff, who actively participated in discussions and presentations exhibiting the university’s initiatives and compliance measures.
