Guimaras State University (GSU) athletes Erica Rose Yanguas, Valerie Dolor, and Trixy Gaborno were instrumental in helping the Western Visayas women’s softball team capture the gold medal at the 2025 National State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) Games, held in Camiguin Island. The team triumphed with an 11-4 victory over Central Luzon (Region 3) at Sagay Elementary School.
While the majority of the team’s lineup came from Northern Iloilo State University (NISU), key players from Carlos Hilado Memorial State University (CHMSU) and GSU helped form a formidable roster. Yanguas, Dolor, and Gaborno’s contributions were vital in securing the region’s victory.
Coached by Instr. Ralph Hervilla, the team’s preparation and execution during the competition were marked by discipline and strategy. The Sea Dragons’ performances on the field exhibited their technical prowess and determination to succeed.
The GSU community applauds Yanguas, Dolor, and Gaborno for their impressive accomplishment, recognizing the hard work and dedication that led to their outstanding achievement in the 2025 SCUAA Games. Their success brings honor and pride to both their teams and the university.
