On December 20, 2024, Guimaras State University (GSU) held its Year-End Assessment, bringing together faculty, staff, and university leaders to review the institution’s progress and set the course for the coming year. The event served as an opportunity for reflection on the university’s academic and administrative achievements over the past year, as well as a platform to discuss future goals. Among the distinguished attendees were Dr. Lilian Diana B. Parreño, University President; Janet R. Aleman, Vice President for Administration and Finance; Dr. Julius T. Vergara, Vice President for Research, Extension, Training, and Innovation; and Dr. Efren S. Tellermo, Vice President for Academic Affairs. Each leader delivered a message addressing key accomplishments and challenges. Dr. Parreño, in her address, praised the university’s resilience and growth in 2024, spotlighting improvements in academic quality and research initiatives.

The Year-End Assessment also featured discussions about the university’s challenges. Despite these hurdles, GSU’s leadership remains optimistic about the institution’s future. Plans for 2025 include further investment in educational tools, faculty training, and expanding research capacity. The event remains a vital tradition, bringing the community together to reflect, celebrate, and align efforts for a brighter future.
