In alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth, the Guimaras State University (GSU) Graduate School conducted a seminar on customer handling and service for employees of IZAI Grill and Restaurant. The training session, held on December 28, 2023, is part of the GSU Graduate School’s extension project, SERBISYO, and was aimed at enhancing the customer service skills of local restaurant staff to improve service quality and customer satisfaction.
The seminar was led by Prof. Rodrigo Paglomutan, Graduate School Extension Coordinator, and Dr. Margie Y. Dela Cruz, GSU Community Extension Director, with a total of (7) seven IZAI Grill and Restaurant employees participating.
Dr. Reggie Gillaco, the invited resource speaker, delivered an informative lecture on best practices in customer handling and service. He addressed topics such as effective customer engagement strategies, managing service challenges, and understanding potential risks in customer interactions. The seminar concluded with an open forum, where participants engaged in a lively discussion, sharing insights and asking questions to further understand the nuances of customer service.
This initiative is part of GSU’s broader commitment to community development, focusing on skills training that supports local economic growth and fosters sustainable business practices.
