From November 28 to December 6, 2023, Guimaras State University (GSU) organized a mental health talk series across its Salvador, Baterna, and Mosqueda campuses. Themed “Adapting to the Current Situation and Challenges in the New Era,” the program aimed to equip students with tools for resilience and adaptability in today’s rapidly changing world.
Led by licensed counselors Mrs. Rosebelle V. Tembrevilla and Instructor Rosabeth M. Arturo, alongside psychologist Dr. Daniel John D. Arboleda, the event tackled crucial mental health topics, including climate change stress, economic hardship, and online safety.

Through interactive discussions, students identified daily challenges, practiced resilience techniques, and explored the importance of adaptability as a life skill. Speakers highlighted key strategies, such as overcoming mental barriers, fostering curiosity, and effective teamwork. They emphasized that adaptable individuals often experience less stress and greater happiness.

By the end of the sessions, students had gained deeper insights into resilience, stress management techniques, and the importance of seeking guidance when needed. GSU’s initiative reflects its ongoing commitment to mental health advocacy and student well-being.
As the world continues to evolve, GSU remains dedicated to equipping its students with the necessary skills to thrive in any situation.
