
An evaluation of the Institutional Research and Extension Agenda was held on October 19, 2023, at Guimaras State University – Salvador Campus. Organized by the Office of Research, Extension, Training, and Innovation, the event took place in the Agri-Eco Convention Hall and served as a vital step towards aligning the university’s research and extension programs with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4, which promotes inclusive, equitable, and quality education.
The review aimed to harmonize GSU’s research efforts with the needs of both local partners and global goals, ensuring that the university’s research supports the broader agenda of accessible and impactful education. Insightful presentations were delivered by distinguished representatives from government agencies, who discussed collaborative pathways for research that aligns with SDG 4 and supports community development.


Representing the Honorable JC Rahman A. Nava, Governor of the Province of Guimaras, Mr. Jaypee Kein G. Entredicho shared the governor’s vision for education in the province and highlighted the importance of integrating educational research into local policy frameworks. Other invited guests emphasized the need for education systems that adapt to community needs, enhance learning opportunities, and bridge gaps in knowledge and skills across all ages and demographics.
The event underscored Guimaras State University’s commitment to quality education as part of its mandate and its active support of the Sustainable Development Goals. By evaluating and refining its institutional research agenda, GSU is actively contributing to the advancement of inclusive, lifelong learning opportunities within the province, ensuring that quality education remains accessible and aligned with the global pursuit of equitable development.
