Guimaras State University’s Instructor Participates in International Research Program on Halal Industry

In alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4, which focuses on ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all, Instructor Adrian C. Alumbro, Program Head of the Bachelor of Science in Food Technology at Guimaras State University (GSU), participated in the UPM-SEARCA International Research Knowledge Program on the Halal Industry. The program was held from September 3 to September 16, 2023, at the University of Putra Malaysia (UPM) in Malaysia.

The UPM-SEARCA Research Knowledge Program is an educational initiative aimed at expanding research knowledge and collaboration on the global halal industry, which is a growing sector with economic, cultural, and sustainability implications. This program allowed participants from various academic backgrounds to explore key areas of halal food production, certification processes, and its significant role in the international market.
